If you're not already an EZ SMILE customer you will need to pay for a scan or an impression kit. We'll use these to create your custom-made retainers.
You'll receive your EZ SMILE retainers in 2-3 from receipt of your scan or completed impressions.

After this first set, retainers can be ordered for RRP $179 from your EZ SMILE dashboard at any time.
It’s essential to wear your retainer at the end of your teeth straightening. Retainers keep your teeth in their new position after you’ve completed your treatment plan. Without them, your teeth will move back!
Retainers should be worn full time for a few months following the conclusion of your treatment or until your teeth do not shift when retainers are out for several hours. You can then reduce down 8 hours per day or wear them each night when you sleep indefinitely. As with all teeth straightening - If you do not wear retainers your teeth will eventually move to be misaligned again.
Retainers should be replaced every 6 months or so. Some people can get longer from a set of retainers but they can stretch over time, allowing your teeth to shift a little. Don’t wait until your retainers are destroyed before you order a new set. New sets take 2-3 weeks to get to you from the order date. We recommend always having a spare set of Retainers so you have them readily available if they break or are lost.
If you’re reordering your existing post treatment retainers, you will receive them within 2-3 weeks of your order date.

Clear aligners are clear plastic trays that have been moulded to the shape of your teeth. We use a series of these to add small amounts of pressure to your teeth to move them into a new position. A retainer looks the same as an aligner, however it is slightly thicker and it is used to retain the shape of your teeth after you have completed your treatment plan. They need to be worn indefinitely to ensure your teeth do not shift again.
